The new brunette, March 16 |
General Info
Hello, amigos! My name is Sarah. I was born on July 27th, making
me a Leo. I stand at around five feet tall and I'm quite large for my age. I'm working on that, though.
I have brown hair and brown eyes. On September 6, I began another year of being tortured (oops...hehe...I
meant taught) at a local high school, and on September 12, I got my learner's permit. I absolutely love
driving. I live with my mother, my stepfather and my three insane cats (Molly, Baby and Lucky) whom I love
dearly.
Passtimes
In my spare time (which I have quite a bit of) I love writing, reading, listening
to music, taking pictures, driving, talking to my friends and playing sports of the basketball, soccer, badminton and
floor hockey varities. I've also been a member of my school's drama club since 2002, which is an indication
of my all-consuming love of acting. Click here to visit the JMOC Drama Club website: http://jmoc-dramaclub.tripod.com
Religion
By birth I'm an Anglican Christian, but I attend church, on average, around two
times a year and I'm not a follower of organized religion as a rule. I think of myself as a more spiritual
person than a religious one. As much as I'm not a religious person, though, people that are don't offend me.
Some of my friends are religious and they're great people. I was raised not to judge people on their belief systems,
and so I don't.
Music
I love listening to most types of music but my current favourite band is
the Newfie one, Great Big Sea. I know you're probably reading this and either going "Who???" or "Man, is she ever
cracked" but seriously - the dudes are geniuses. My obsession with GBS started in October 2004 when my dad took me to
their concert in Barrie, Ontario and I've been infatuated with them ever since. When I'm not listening to GBS, though,
you can usually find me listening to ---> Avril Lavigne, The Pretenders, Shania Twain, ABBA, Green Day, Christina Aguilera,
Alanis Morissette, Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff, Pat Benatar, Good Charlotte, Dido, The Split Peas (yeah I know
I'm messed up...lol), Blondie, Meat Loaf and more.
Movies
Horror movies don't sit well with me. I don't like movies with frightening
parts, violence, blood, guts or gore. As a rule I like comedies, but lately I've been branching out and expanding
my movie library. Among my current favourites are: All Harry Potter, The Notebook, Titanic, Lemony Snicket's A Series
of Unfortunate Events, Raise Your Voice, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Memoirs of a Geisha, Flightplan, Grease,
Dirty Dancing, Ever After and Twister, as well as basically every comedy ever made, such as Shark Tale, Anchorman, all
Austin Powers, 50 First Dates, Ace Ventura, The 40-year-old Virgin, Madagascar, Anger Management, Meet the Fockers, The Pacifier, 13
Going on 30, Monster-in-Law, Without a Paddle and more.
TV
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, but there are some shows I like. Some of
them are: Survivor, The Simpsons, Will & Grace, Frasier, That's So Raven (and a number of other shows on the Family Channel),
The Ellen Degeneres Show, and basically every cooking show out there (I developed that interest when we got satellite
and an entire channel was dedicated to cooking shows).
Books
I read a lot of books. I've never read a book I can honestly say I didn't
like, but here are a few of my favourites: All Harry Potter, The Notebook, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Death
on the Ice, Blood Red Ochre, To Dance at the Palais Royale, The Maestro, Memoirs of a Geisha, All Silverwing, Dancing on the
Edge, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Tiger Eyes, Dragonfly Summer (I've got a poem published in that...so do a lot of people
from J.M. Olds), All Princess Diaries, Bras & Broomsticks, Alma, The Nanny Diaries.....................I could go on,
but you'll be sleeping by then.
Friends & Family
I've never had what you could call a HUGE group of friends, but these days I'm
going out more and spending time with girls my own age, which is something I've found I really enjoy. We've had
some hilarious times throughout the past year, and I'm sure there are more to come. I love my friends all to death.
(Some shoutouts to them: Stacey, Sarah, Jasmine, Lindsey, Sam Simms, Sam Bath, Kylee, Jillian and - although you don't
live here I love you just as much, girls - Heather, Kayla, Alicia, Sandra, Alana and Andrea!!!!)
As for family, we have our issues but on the whole, the people in my family are
amazing and I wouldn't be half the person I am today without them. We've been through some really tough times over the
years and without my family I never would have made it through.
**Mom, Phil, Dad, Shirley, Gramma, Grampa, Nanny, Poppa, Uncle Phil, Aunt Debbie,
Carly, Lydia, Tom, Caitlin....I love you guys!!!**
Well, congratulations! You've just read through pretty much everything there
is to know about the complicated (or maybe not so complicated?) being that is me. I hope you've enjoyed the trek
through my brain, and I hope you'll come back to do it all again soon. Ciao!
Head home :-)
